Biography
Wendi Gosliner is the Director of Food Policy Research and Translation at the Nutrition Policy Institute, University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources. Her work aims to improve population nutrition and health, prevent food insecurity, improve food system sustainability and justice, and eliminate health disparities. She has led intervention projects and research studies in various venues, including schools, prisons, the social safety net (SNAP, WIC, EITC, etc.), and childcare environments. She is particularly interested in the nexus of research, practice, policy, and community-based efforts to improve health.
Dr. Gosliner taught graduate and undergraduate courses in community nutrition and nutrition policy in the School of Public Health and the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at the University of California (UC), Berkeley. She also served as a local elected official in her community, where she led land use planning efforts. In 2013-14, she was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow, serving as a health policy advisor to the Honorable Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi.
Dr. Gosliner received a DrPH and an MPH in public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in nutritional sciences from Cornell University. She is a registered dietitian.
