Biography
Kathy Arcement Hebert, M.D., M.M.M., M.P.H. is a board certified specialist in cardiology and is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center, in New Orleans. She is also the State Task Force Director for Congestive Heart Failure Disease Management at the LSU Health Care Services Division, in Baton Rouge, and Director of Cardiology at the Chabert Medical Center, in Houma, Louisiana. Dr. Hebert received her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at LSU Medical Center and Charity Hospital/Medical Center of Louisiana. Her additional postgraduate training includes a fellowship in cardiology/nuclear medicine at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and a fellowship in interventional cardiovascular medicine at LSU Medical Center. She recently was awarded her Masters in Medical Management from Tulane School of Public Health and a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Her interest is in heart failure outcomes research in disease management, the uninsured and underinsured, improving access to care and quality, implementing electronic medical record technology, population medicine and developing international cardiovascular guidelines in developing countries. Her heart failure disease management program received the 2002 National Association of Public Hospitals Safety Net Award for accountability and quality improvement. PBS plans to feature this program in the spring of 2006 during a series devoted to chronic disease in America. Dr. Hebert is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Heart Failure Society of America.
