Biography

Dr. Charlton Wilson is a solopreneur who helps healthcare organizations thrive and improve the health of the communities they serve. He was a 2021-2022 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow, where he served on the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Energy and Commerce. Previously, he was the Chief Medical Officer of Mercy Care, a non-profit health plan serving Medicaid and Dual-eligible beneficiaries in Arizona. While serving these high-needs populations, he collaborated with government agencies, beneficiaries, providers, universities, and community-based organizations to improve the entire community's well-being. Charlton also served as a Commissioned Officer with the U.S. Public Health Service. In addition to clinical care, he served in hospital leadership positions and traveled throughout the land to develop programs in disease management and performance measurement that advanced the mission of the Indian Health Service. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Charlton has served on numerous community boards and is a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix.
