Biography

Leona Cuttler, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics, is Chief of Endocrinology, Medical Director of The Center for Chronic Conditions of Childhood, and Medical Director of KidsHealth 2020 at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Cuttler has a long history of research and program development in child health, supported by The National Institutes of Health, the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, state agencies, foundations, and others. Her research focuses on child growth and development, utilization of growth hormone therapy, obesity, and diabetes. Her work incorporates multidisciplinary team approaches to address several dimensions of specific issues – including ethical, physiological, and policy implications. Dr. Cuttler is the author and co-author of many articles and text chapters. She serves on the editorial boards of major journals. She has served on several committees for the NIH and the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society. Dr. Cuttler received her medical degree from McGill University. She completed a residency and chief residency in pediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children, The University of Toronto. In 1990, she moved to Case Western Reserve University, where she received tenure in 1993 and was promoted to Professor in 1996. (Updated 09/01/05)
